LennyGemar  > Vacation > 2010 Music City - Nashville and Decatur, AL
5/18/2010 - Photos of my trip through Nashville on my way to NAIA Softball National Tournament in Decatur, AL. Visited the XM Radio studios, as well as wandering down to the river, then had dinner at Jack's Barbecue. My thanks to Storme Warren for helping coordinate this tour, and to Joyce who actually walked me around.

Also some photos from around Decatur, AL, specifically Point Mallard.

Buzz Brainard, a DJ for The Highway (Sirius/XM 59). This photo is one of the production booths on the upper floor where he is voice-tracking his show.
This is the on-air booth for Sirius/XM-59, The Highway. One floor down from the production rooms, it has plenty of space in front of the host for small, live performances.
Performance Studio control room. There is a large performance studio (downstairs) where larger acts with crowds of fans can attend. This room is where the recording and on-air product are managed.
In the gift shop downstairs, there's also a small performance stage where (occasionally) big names will conduct acoustic performances for small groups of fans. When not in use (like during this visit), Gabe, or one of the other gift shop employees will take your photo with a guitar, so you can show all your friends you got to play in Nashville. (This is NOT the large performance studio I mentioned in the previous photo.)
The upper couple of floors in this cylinder house the XM studios and business offices.
At the foot of broadway, the river is still 8-10 feet above normal, two weeks after the flood. You're supposed to be able to walk along that railing without getting your feet wet.

River height gauge. Water level is at the 26' level. I'm not sure how deep "normal" is, though I suspect around 16-18'. It exceeded the top of this gauge (51') during the flood.
